The rules of the road for Palatable. Last updated 27 May 2026.
These terms govern your use of Palatable, a back-office product by Palate & Pen. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Notice.
Palatable is a digital sous chef. We process recipes, costing, menu engineering, suppliers, invoices, safety records, and events booking data on your behalf. We aim for high availability but make no guarantee of uninterrupted service.
Some product surfaces include AI-assisted features (invoice extraction, recipe import). The outputs are suggestions — always confirm before relying on them for compliance, costing, or pricing decisions.
You’re responsible for the security of your account credentials. Don’t share passwords. Notify us at hello@palateandpen.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
You agree to provide accurate information at signup. The account holder is responsible for all activity on the account, including actions taken by team members you’ve invited.
Palatable is sold on monthly subscriptions via Stripe. Plans are Pro (£69/month), Site (£149/month), and Group (£149 per site per month). Optional Safety and Events modules are £25 per site per month each.
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. We capture your card upfront but charge nothing until day 15. Cancel any time from Owner → Billing or the Stripe Customer Portal; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
We don’t offer refunds for partial months. If billing fails, we give a 5-day grace window before the account is suspended.
You agree not to:
You own everything you put into Palatable. We process it on your behalf under the terms of the Privacy Notice. We never sell your data or use it to train external AI models.
If you cancel, you can export your data via the Owner shell or by emailing hello@palateandpen.co.uk for up to 12 months. After that, it’s deleted.
Some accounts are granted access via a beta invite code. Beta access is free at our discretion and may be transitioned to a paid plan with reasonable notice. Beta features may be removed or changed without prior consultation.
Palatable is provided “as is”. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, business interruption) arising from your use of the product. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees you’ve paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that can’t be excluded under UK law.
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes are emailed to account-holders before they take effect. Continued use of Palatable after the change date counts as acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
